A Live Parking Map for Carolina Beach
Parking is the thing renters ask us about most, and the answers are scattered across two town websites, a vendor's app and a stack of signs that all say slightly different things. So we put it on one map — and made it live.
The Carolina Beach parking map shows all twenty-four town lots and, for each one, how many spaces are actually free right now. Green means room, amber means filling up, red means full. It's free, there's nothing to sign up for, and it works on a phone while you're standing next to your cart.
Where the live numbers come from
Availability comes from PivotGO, the real-time tool Pivot Parking runs for the Town of Carolina Beach. They meter these lots, so their occupancy figures are the ones that count. Our map reads their data and refreshes every fifteen minutes — their system recalculates far more often than that, but we poll conservatively rather than lean on someone else's infrastructure.
If their feed is ever unreachable, the map keeps showing the last known figures and says so rather than going blank or, worse, quietly showing you stale numbers as though they were current.
What's actually out there
Twenty-four town lots, 954 spaces between them. The largest by a distance is the Downtown lot on Canal Drive at 146 spaces, followed by Pelican East at 139 and Dolphin at 74. At the other end, the Senior Center lot has four spaces, South Carolina has six and the Golf Cart lot has nine — worth knowing before you drive the length of the island expecting to find room.
Three lots take no LSV pass at all: Harper, Hewett, and the Carolina Beach Avenue South lot. That's 84 spaces where your cart's pass buys you nothing and you'll pay like everyone else. Pulling into one assuming you're covered is a sixty dollar mistake, and it's the most common way visitors get a citation on a cart.
The part that matters if you rent from us
Every JellyCart carries its Carolina Beach LSV parking pass on the vehicle. It's an annual permit that rides with the plate. You don't apply for it, buy it, or display anything, and it's already on the cart when it reaches you. What it doesn't do is override a posted time limit or the town's twenty-four hour maximum stay, and it doesn't work in those three lots. Overnight, and charging
If your rental house, hotel or campground can't take a golf cart, you can leave it in a town lot overnight. There's no rule against it and the pass covers it. The one limit is the twenty-four hour maximum stay in any town facility, so move it once a day.
Charging is the harder problem, because there is no public cart charging anywhere on Pleasure Island. If your lodging has nowhere to plug in, don't improvise with an extension cord across a walkway — call or text us and we'll work out the right answer for your rental.
Worth knowing before you worry about it: our carts run a 200Ah lithium pack, which is more range than most people use in a week. Most renters never plug in at all.
A word on accuracy
Live occupancy is an estimate built from active parking sessions, not a camera counting cars. It's very good for deciding which lot to drive to and not a guarantee that a specific space is waiting for you. Rates, rules and lot capacities are set by the town and its operator and change year to year. The posted sign at the lot is always the rule — not our map, and not anyone's website.
