The Town of Carolina Beach annual LSV parking pass rides on the cart — good for street-end spaces and most town lots (the exceptions, explained). Plus flat tires, battery issues, lockouts and on-island rescue: we come to you, and swap your cart if we can't fix it on the spot. A service charge, not insurance.

FAQ

Good to Know Before You Book

Do I need a driver's license?
Yes. Because our carts are street-legal LSVs, the driver must be 21 or older with a valid driver's license and be listed on the rental agreement — why 21, not the state's 16 minimum.
Where can I legally drive it?
Any public street on Carolina Beach or Kure Beach posted 35 mph or under. LSVs may not be driven on the beach itself, on the dunes, or across US 421 where the limit exceeds 35 mph. Full rules of the road →
How far will a charge last?
Our 200Ah lithium packs are the biggest on the island — 80+ miles of island driving on a full charge, roughly twice what other rentals carry. Plug in overnight with the included charger and you start fresh each morning.
Why don’t you rent six-seaters?
Two reasons. First, the third row on almost every six-seater faces backwards over the cargo bed — groups use it on day one and leave it empty for the rest of the week. Second, it is not a safe seat: ejection is the dominant injury mechanism in golf cart crashes (82% of adult injury patients in a 2023 Traffic Injury Prevention review), and rear-facing benches are specifically implicated — a peer-reviewed study measured the hip restraint on a typical one at 5 inches above the seat where at least 13 inches is needed to hold a rear-facing passenger through a sharp turn (Schau & Masory, Accident Analysis & Prevention, 2013). Is delivery really free?
On weekly rentals, yes — delivery and pickup anywhere on Pleasure Island are included. Same-day and 1-night walk-up rentals are self-serve: you walk to the cart and unlock it with a QR code. For addresses off the island, call us for a quote.
Do you deliver to Kure Beach?
On weekly rentals, yes — we deliver and collect anywhere on Pleasure Island, Kure included, at no charge. Shorter rentals and our Night Owl and Early Bird runs are pick-up only: the carts stage in Carolina Beach, so you collect yours there and return it to the same space you took it from. It's about a six-minute drive up Lake Park Blvd — and at 5 AM there's nobody on the road.
What is the Road Service Plan, and why is it required?
It's $10 a day, and it's a service charge — not insurance and not a damage waiver. It covers two things. First, parking: every cart carries the Town of Carolina Beach's annual LSV parking pass, good for the street-end spaces and most town lots — the parking most visitors end up paying $25 a day for in season (which lots, and the five it doesn't cover). Second, road service: flat tires, battery issues, lockouts and on-island rescue, with a swap cart if we can't fix yours on the spot — the full breakdown here.
What if something goes wrong?
Text the number on your rental agreement. We're local, so we typically have a swap cart to you within the hour during business hours.
What happens if the cart gets damaged?
Damage to the cart is your responsibility under the rental agreement — the Road Service Plan does not cover it, and we'd rather say so plainly than let you find out afterwards. Worth knowing before you book: a rented low-speed vehicle usually falls outside a personal auto policy — check with your insurer if you're unsure. More on insurance coverage →
When are you open?
We are open year-round, 7 AM to 7 PM, seven days a week — and you can collect outside those hours. Choose an after-hours pickup under Book Now: the cart is staged for you and you unlock it with a QR code rather than meeting anyone at a counter, so an Early Bird can go out before we open and a Night Owl can come back after we close. What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your rental starts. Inside 24 hours a $100 cancellation fee applies, and we'll happily move your dates instead when the fleet allows.
